Animals Escape Zoo in Tbilisi

Last weekend, there was a terrible flood in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, that severely impacted their local zoo. On top of the many fatal injuries for the employees at the zoo, many animals ended up escaping. These animals included wild elephants, wolves and a hippopotamus. It has been said that about half of the zoo’s animals had escaped.

There has been video footage captured by many of the town’s civilians who have caught sight of these wild animals on a stroll in their city. As a result, they were advised to stay indoors. Thankfully, it appears that the animals are being treated carefully in order to bring them back to the zoo. There have also been reports of a few civilians taking it upon themselves to rescue animals they have found.

We hope that along with the animals, the people who have have been impacted by the flood are safe.
