CYO Interview with Mila (mata_hari)
1. When did you first start designing CYO?
I joined DC in July 2015 and I got interested in CYO fairly quickly but I started designing maybe September last year.
2. What made you start designing CYO?
I love drawing (pencil, charcoal, paint, etc) but I never tried digital drawing before DC. I decided to give it a try.
3. What is your favorite CYO piece that you have created?
I would say my Divamour entries; they really took me quite a long time to put together but I was quite satisfied with the end result.
4. What your biggest CYO accomplishment so far?
I was sad I could not finish Divamour but getting to the top three in three of the four phases was definitely a huge accomplishment for me. There were so many other talented designers in it.
5. What is the best thing about designing CYO?
The best thing about CYO is the fact you can create something unique; it is not easy and I am still in the process of learning but I hope to be able to design really unique CYO pieces one day.
6. How long does it take you to create a CYO piece?
I am still trying to find my own technique and get used to software so it really depends – if the CYO piece is not very complicated it could take me an hour; to create the whole set like in Divamour it would definitely take me few days.
7. Who is your favorite CYO designer?
There are so many talented designers on DC and Design Team so it would be hard to pick just one but I adore Ninah, Helga, R36, Auntypat, Reesie, Pandaimeec, Jennamazingg.
8. What’s one tip you can offer to new CYO designers?
Do not give up – probably other designers will agree with me, you really have to practice a lot to get great at this. I still doubt my talent every now and then but I know for sure that you can achieve a lot if you put your heart in it and do not get discouraged if few attempts are not successful.
