Drought in Zimbabwe

There has been unfortunate news in this country as President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe has officially “declared a state of disaster” (BBC News, 2016) because of the drought in many rural areas.

There are over two million people in this country who need food. They are depending on people to donate money to be able to provide the citizens with food. The government has been assuring the nation to remain calm because of the corn they were receiving from Zambia. There has also been very minimal rain for the past year resulting in fewer cattle. You can see the damaging results from the lack of rain through the decreased vegetation and the death of the cows because of it.

Other countries who are suffering from this drought include Namibia, South Africa and Botswana.

This is just so sad. </3 I hate that things like this happen all over the world, all of the time & so many people are forced to suffer together. It breaks my heart. I do hope things change soon for these poor people. 🙁
