1. When did you first start designing CYO?
It’s now probably a year I’ve been interested entering in the world of CYO and the past half year I’ve been more serious about it. I started really unsure about my skills though, but here I am, still trying and practising.
2. What made you start designing CYO?
It was of me seeing all these gorgeous designs made by some really talented designers here on Diva Chix. Their talent and skills made me see myself as a good designer as well. From the very beginning I knew that I wouldn’t grow into being the best, but I decided I would try and see where all this would take me.
3. What is your favorite CYO piece that you have created?
It has to be this dress I created to auction off in the forums. I think it’s one of the dresses I’ve made that turned out almost exactly as I wanted it to and I was pretty proud of it.
4. What your biggest CYO accomplishment so far?
It’s Divamour 7 where I competed last year. I didn’t complete all the rounds; I only achieved doing two of them, but I was proud of myself competing next to extremely skilled CYO designers. It also was a great opportunity for me to practise and a way for me to start trying harder for my goal. I hope that this year I’ll be able to give more in Divamour.
5. What is the best thing about designing CYO?
It’s the ideas you get about new CYO pieces, in bed, in the middle of the night when you should be sleeping. Dreaming you’ll create something phenomenal the following day, even if it doesn’t turn out exactly the way you wanted.
It’s all that color and imagination you see in fashion magazines, that feed your vision to make something beautiful.
6. How long does it take you to create a CYO piece?
I think it takes me about one and a half to two hours, depends on the piece I’m creating of course and if I’m planning to create accessories. There are sometimes though I have an idea and make something in about half an hour because I really wanna dress like something particular on that exact moment. That happened a few days ago when I wanted to make my doll an Indian hahah.
7. Who is your favorite CYO designer?
Ah, so many talented designers on Divachix. But I truly admire the skills and the techniques of Zumzy, Auntypat, Reesie, Rinny, Aristocat, Hippie_chick, _marie_ and many many more.
8. What’s one tip you can offer to new CYO designers?
Practise makes the master. There was a time I couldn’t understand that and I thought that I was just bad. But I started practising whatever I saw in tutorials made by talented designers on the forums and I became better and better day by day.
I also watched and continue to watch many videos on YouTube with Photoshop techniques that not only apply on DC CYO but generally. I’m thankfull for everything I’ve learned and to everyone who’s helped. Research for easy for you techniques, practise, try, try, try and don’t give up
