Keeping Your Kids Safe This Halloween
This Halloween, USA Today is boasting about apps that parents can use to track their children who are trick or treating without them. Some of the apps go as far as setting limits on where the kids can go, and alerting the parents when the kids step outside the area. It can also tell the parents when they get to a certain check in point along their route. Or, it can also give you the exact location of the kid if they have their phone on them.
It is understandable that parents want their children to be safe and know they are not up to any wrong doings, but could this go to far? Could parents use this to track their kids moves on other days besides Halloween? Or, could this possibly cut down the juvenile crime rate if parents knew where their offspring were at all times?
What do you think of these apps? Are they a good idea or are they going overboard?
