I have been anticipating the day I would be watching the new TV series, Limitless. If you already seen the movie, with the same title, you would understand why. Us, as humans, always wonder how much brains are capable of, and this show evolves around this very idea.
This TV drama starts with a man, Brian Finch, played by Jake McDorm, who discovers this pill that gives people’s brain a boost, enhancing it’s cognitive abilities. After the death of the friend who introduced him to the drug, he comes under the radar of the FBI, who recruits him to help out in diverse cases, by using his new found abilities.
Working alongside with him is Agent Rebecca Harris, played by Jennifer Carpenter, who offers to be his liaison. After convincing her boss, Special Agent in Charge Nasreen “Naz” Pouran, played by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, to using him as a resource, instead of just as a lab rat.
Also on the team we have Agent Spealman Boyle, played by Hill Harper, who is Agent Rebecca’s partner.
I have to admit that the show’s pilot wasn’t as great as I expected; it felt like I was watching the movie again. Maybe because I saw the movie, but I noticed that the story line for the first episode was almost the same as the movie. But, as the series progressed, I started liking it more, allowing me to forget about the movie.
Have you had a chance to watch the show? What do you think of it? Or do you prefer the movie adaptation?
This show has huge potential to be a great show. Now, let's see what the writers and producer do with it!
