MacGyver is a new action, adventure, drama show on CBS this Fall. It is on Fridays.
If you are an 80’s fan of Angus MacGyver, the most beloved TV character, than this show is not for you. However, this is not the prequel that devoted fans were hoping to see.
This show is about 20 something Angus MacGyver, who creates the Department of External Services (DXS), a clandestine organization within the U.S. Government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem-solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives. Joining his team on high risk missions around the world is maverick former CIA agent Jack Dalton and Riley Davis, an unpredictable computer hacker and an ex-field agent turned Director of Operations Patricia Thornton.
You should see what he can do with little more than bubble gum, a paper clip, and his Swiss Army knife.
Cast: Lucas Tiel, George Eads, Sandrine Holt, Tristin Mays and Justin Hires
I was disappointed that it was not like the old MacGyver, but it was entertaining. I feel it does need help in the script as well as some of the scientific solutions are not quite accurate.
I like and watch the show but still find the main actor hard to believe he can do MacGyver. I was surprised to learn the show got picked up for a full season.
Macgyver was one of my very favorite shows, but I’m partial to the original Mac – just can’t get used to this new one.
