Model X – Newest Car Model from Tesla Motors
On September 29, 2015, Tesla Motors unveiled their newest model of the electric car! The impressive SUV Model X’s prototype was shown in 2012 with Elon Musk saying that the production for this model would start by 2013. Nonetheless, it’s finally here, and it can be described in one word: stunning!
The Model X is aerodynamic, able to achieve 250 miles of range. Not bad for an electric car! It is also equipped with “wing” doors like you have never seen before. Tesla calls it a “falcon wing”. It moves up and over, allowing easy access to the second and third rows, and enough head space to allow parents to buckle up their kids without bumping their head on the car ceiling. For people with low garage ceilings, this feature will be not be an issue, as the car has ultrasonic sensors on the roof, which allows it to sense the roof height and automatically compute a new opening arc depending on the roof height and any other obstacles. In addition, for those inconvenient moments in a parking lot where there is little space left for you to open your car door, as long you have at least a foot of clearance, it can still manage to open.
But it doesn’t just stop there. It has power-folding and heated side mirrors, a 17-inch touchscreen located in the middle of the dash, automatic key-less entry and opening front doors, parking sensors, blind spot warning and side collision avoidance, seating for up to seven adults, automatic emergency braking to assist in avoiding collisions, even at highway speeds, four LATCH child seat attachments, two in each passenger row, just to name a few of the features. People with allergies will love this next feature! Even if you don’t, you’ll still appreciate this next feature: the existence of a medical grade HEPA filter that “strips outside air of pollen, bacteria, viruses and pollution before circulating it into the cabin”. There are three modes: circulate with outside air, re-circulate inside air and a bioweapon defense mode that creates positive pressure inside the cabin to protect occupants. More information about the car be found at Tesla Motors website.
If this is the type of car you like, or are able to afford, its price tag starts at $130,000. The Model X can be reserved right now with a down payment of $5,000.00. The company estimates a waiting period of 8 to 12 months before delivering this luxury electric SUV that are being ordered right now.
Now let’s see how long it will take to make this available for the masses at half of its present price tag. Lots of people would love something like this but for the hefty price tag of $130,000, not many can afford it.
Hopefully the waiting period for this beauty will be short.
