New York City

New York City is the most populated city in the United States. It is the “city that never sleeps”. In 2015, New York had an estimated population of 8,550,405, further being described as the cultural and financial capital of the world.

Situated in one of the world’s largest natural harbors, New York City consists of five boroughs, each a separate county of NY State. The five boroughs are Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island. There are over 800 languages spoken here. NYC also has the world’s largest foreign born population of any city.

Top attractions are: Empire State Building, One World Observatory, the Met on Fifth Avenue, Bronx Zoo, Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Terminal, Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, American Museum of Natural History, Circle Line, China Town, Little Italy, Yankee Stadium, City Field, the Cyclones, Lincoln Center, Broadway, NYC beaches, Wall Street, the Plaza Hotel, Central Park, Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Ellis Island, Flushing Meadows Park, Coney Island, and New York Stock Exchange. I can keep going on as there is so much more to see and do!

Then for restaurants, there are endless cultural restaurants from all over the world that you can try.

Night life is also very lively with plays, restaurants, cigar bars, clubs and more.

Final Thoughts

New York City is beautiful. I lived there for more than 50 years and this city never gets old. I miss seeing the city light up at night with all of Manhattan in view. It is truly a "city that never sleeps".
