Movie Review

Patriot Day

Patriot Day depicts the Boston Marathon and the tragedy and drama of what happened at the finish line on April 15th, 2013.

Two men entered the crowds surrounding the finish line at the Boston Marathon. They set off multiple bombs, resulting in death and dismemberment along with emotional scars. This truly was a sad moment in recent history. The two bombers were Dzohkar Tsarnaev (in prison at the moment) and Tamerlan Tsarnaev (killed), both brothers.

This movie captures in chronological order the suspense of one of the most sophisticated manhunts in law enforcement history and celebrates the strength of the people in Boston.

Director: Peter Berg

Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, JK Simmons, and Alex Wolff to name just a few

Final Thoughts

This was one of the best movies I saw this year, if one can say that. Mark Wahlberg was always as excellent and the cast was great to watch. A sad story indeed but this movie is about the brave and courageous survivors and also the first responders, police, FBI and investigators who raced against the clock to hunt down the bombers before they could strike again. In my opinion this is a must see movie.
